Sandhill Cranes and Birding
The annual spectacle of the Spring Migration is almost here!
Beginning in early February, and peaking in mid March, hundreds of thousands of Sandhill Cranes will stop over in the Platte River Valley from Grand Island to Sutherland.
Please download the brochures from this page or contact the North Platte/Lincoln County Convention and Visitors Bureau for information on birding in the area.
Viewing opportunities in the North Platte area include a circle drive and the blind at Buffalo Bill State Historical Park to the eighth floor viewing platform of the Golden Spike Tower and Visitor Center.
