America's 20th Century Veterans Memorial
Honoring all five branches of the U.S. Armed Forces.
The five major branches of the armed forces and the five major conflicts of the 20th Century are memorialized by larger than life bronze statues and a fifteen foot tall brick bas relief mural.
The Memorial is conveniently located in the southeast quadrant of Interstate 80 exit 177. It is the crossroads of the "Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Highway (U.S. Highway 83), and the Eisenhower Interstate system (I-80), which is also the "Purple Heart Trail" through Nebraska.
The next statue to be commissioned will be one of a "Canteen Lady". The North Platte World War II Canteen met every troop train that came through North Platte. From Christmas Day 1941 to April first 1946, more than 55,000 volunteers welcomed more than 6.5 million service personnel through North Platte.
This memorial honors all who served throughout the 20th Century, whether on the battlefield or the home front.
